With between 25 - 50% of your homes heat lost through the roof its essential to have adequate loft insulation.
Since 2003, building regulations recommend a loft insulation depth of at least 270mm using mineral or glass wool.
Fast forward 20 years, some new homes are being constructed with loft insulation levels equivalent to 400mm of mineral wool.

Loft Boarding & Storage
The solution is raising the loft boards above the insulation height. This can be done in a number of ways from using timer, a metal frame or plastic legs screwed to the joist to create a secure platform that can be used for storage. Alternatively a PIR insulation board can be laid over a suitably framed joist & boarded with loft boarding.

Under Floor Insulation
Exposed underfloor areas of houses are accountable for 10 - 15% of the heat loss from your home, draughts created from holes, ventilation, and air gaps of a suspended wooden floor cools a room significantly, especially on the lower floors as the heat in the building naturally rises.
Under floor insulation fitting is non disruptive if access under the floor accessible, if not the flooring would need to be lifted to fit the insulation between the joist.

Q. Do you offer spray foam?
A. No, a number of mortgage lenders now refuse to lend on houses fitted with spray foam insulation. Therefore we do not offer this service.
Q. Do you offer over insulation storage solutions.
A. Yes, there are a number of different solutions on the market, we can recommend a suitable solution after having assessed your loft space and storage requirements.
Q. There seems to be water on my felt, what is it?
A. Poorly insulated lofts or lofts with poor ventilation cause the damp warm air rising from below to condensate on the cold parts of the roof.
